For many U.S. businesses, the Netherlands is the logical gateway to Europe and on October 11 Allison Turner will tell us why. Allison has a unique perspective about “Going Dutch” based on her experiences living and working in the Netherlands and working with Dutch and American companies and people. Allison will share both professional and personal experiences we can relate to.
Allison Turner is Director of the Southeast Office of the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency, based in Atlanta. She has worked for NFIA, which is part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, for over a decade. Allison holds a BA in English from the University of Alabama and an MBA from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
The Chamber’s businesswomen’s luncheons are a new initiative, presented under the leadership for NACCSE Directors Margriet van de Steeg and Karen de Groot, Principals of YEP, LLC, a consulting firm for expatriates in Atlanta, with assistance from Lya Sorano, Founder & Principal of Atlanta Women in Business and CEO of The Oliver/Sorano Group, Inc.
The Netherlands American Chamber of Commerce of the Southeastern United States (NACCSE) is the largest Dutch networking organization in the Southeastern U.S. The organization encourages, supports and promotes trade and investment between the two countries and provides a platform for Dutch and American businesses to work together for mutual benefit.
The Netherlands is America’s third largest investor and was the second nation to officially recognize the independence of the United States, with the acceptance of Minister John Adams’s credentials on April 19, 1781. Our countries’ friendship has been solid and unbroken ever since. It continues today in settings all over the United States, including now with the Dutch-American businesswomen’s luncheons in Atlanta.
