Women Series – Cyber Security

Our panel of 3 powerful women will discuss cyber security risks that could affect all of our lives while also providing insight on how to manage some of those risks. The Women Series is a collaboration between the German, French, Belgian and Netherlands American Chambers of Commerce as well as the British-American Business Council and the Japan-America Society of Georgia. We host quarterly educational & networking events with the goal of bringing together women in the Atlanta international community.

Meet our Panelists:

Anne Marie Colombo, CISSP, Cybersecurity Solution Advisor, SAP In her role Anne Marie Colombo focuses on cybersecurity and identity solutions and aligns cybersecurity best practices, thought leaders, partners, and solutions for holistic enterprise security for customers. Her background includes providing solutions in the areas of data protection, identity, multi-factor authentication and encryption to secure SAP and other applications.  She holds a Certified Information Security Systems Professional (CISSP) certification from ISC2. She currently serves as the President of the Metro Atlanta Information Systems Security Association (ISSA) chapter as well as on the board of the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) Information Security Society.

Cynthia Curry, Director of IoT, Metro Atlanta Chamber Cynthia Curry is passionate about supporting, building, and promoting the region’s IoT ecosystem.  Her mission is to drive collaboration and engagement within the IoT and mobile community to strengthen Metro Atlanta’s position as a technological powerhouse.  She has helped MAC launch IoT.ATL, a consortium of business, government, and non-profit leaders united to help Metro Atlanta to become a globally recognized leader in IoT innovation.  She leads the MAC IoT / Mobile Leadership Council, who implements the guiding principles of IoT.ATL, and will help put Atlanta on the map for their IoT and Smart Cities innovation. Cynthia has helped nurture Atlanta technology companies for over 20 years.

DeBrae Kennedy-Mayo, Research Faculty Member, Georgia Institute of Technology At Georgia Tech DeBrae Kennedy engages in research on legal and policy issues concerning privacy and cybersecurity.  Along with Peter Swire she co-authored the 2018 edition of U.S. Private Sector Privacy: Law and Practice for Information Privacy Professionals, IAPP’s book used by those studying for privacy certification.  They also co-authored the 2017 Emory Law Journal article entitled, “Why Both the EU and US are ‘Stricter’ than Each Other for the Privacy of Government Requests for Information,” which examined privacy protections provided in EU law as well as those that exist in US law. Kennedy-Mayo has been an attorney for 15 years and spent most of her career working in government, acting as both an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Georgia and as an Assistant District Attorney in several Georgia counties.
