How do you describe your job to people outside the industry?
While my title is “Insurance Producer” I am more of a Risk Manager for my clients. I identify risk exposures with my clients and recommend ways to minimize or transfer those risks through insurance or other loss prevention methods.
Who are your main competitors and what differentiates you from the competition? What makes you unique?
As an Independent Insurance Agency our competitors are other Independent Agencies in Georgia and around the U.S. I am unique in the fact that while I am in sales I service all my client’s needs on a daily basis. Most Insurance Producers rely on their staff to provide service while I believe that I am the first point of contact on any and every matter. PointeNorth Insurance Group is different than our competitors because we are a full-service independent insurance agency. In simple terms we are a one stop shop for insurance needs. Not only do we offer all insurance products to all people and businesses, but we have hundreds of industry contracts to give our clients the best opportunity to find the best product for their specific need. Our competitors simply can’t offer the same products with the same service.
How was the business started?
PointeNorth Insurance Group was officially formed in 2009 by the merger of TRC Insurance Services and Merritt McKenzie.
How many employees does the business have?
PointeNorth currently has 130 employees.
How did you end up in Atlanta?
I was born in Georgia, but I actually grew up in South Carolina. While attending college I met my wife who was from Atlanta and we decided to make our home here.
What is your number one business goal over the next year?
When you are in sales it is always about production numbers. However, production is simply a number and doesn’t always measure the quality of a client to build a long lasting relationship. My goal is always to build as many partnerships as possible daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. By working with quality clients that understand you are there to minimize their risks and build their trust is no better goal to accomplish every day. As a company we have a goal to grow organically by 10% both in the commercial category and personal lines category, along with continuing to be a Top 10 Broker in Georgia.
What is the best advice you have received regarding doing business with the Dutch?
The best advice I have received about dealing with Dutch Business Associates is that they are very direct, speak their mind up front and they work hard.

My hobbies include working out, gardening, and coaching football and wrestling.
